In my many years as a painter, my tendency has always been to explore and experiment with various skills and techniques. My adventurous nature embraces new challenges. When something isn't working, intuitively and spontaneously, I'll invent a new approach. The excitement of discovering something new progresses me forward with my work!

The most common question artists get is, “What style/genre do you paint?” I tend to have a difficult time answering. The best I can say is that my “style” is my own unique blend of artistic influences and methods I’ve encountered and practiced on my journey as an artist. I have always, and will always love playing with subtle changes in light and shadow. It is fascinating to see how this interacts with color and texture, and the emotional impact it creates. While my paintings span a wide array of subjects, I like to think that they always speak to our shared human experiences.​
